Do What is Right for You

February 29, 2016

Some of our most watched videos on You Tube are the “in the bag” videos. People can’t seem to get enough of watching the pros from Dynamic Discs, Latitude 64, and Westside talk about the discs in their bags. We have to admit, we like them too.

As fun as they are to watch, they really should come with a warning. Something similar to what you see on car commercials. You know, the one that says, “Do not attempt this at home, cars driven by professionals on a closed course”. The in the bag version should say,

“Do not attempt to copy this bag. All discs are thrown by a professional on a championship caliber course.”

We see a lot of players who watch those in the bag videos and want to mimic their favorite pro. They see their favorite pro praising a disc. The pro calls it their “go to”. They say you should buy one. So you do.

The problem is that the pro on the video can throw 500 feet. What if you can’t? That means that in many cases, what is a “go to” for them will be a “no go” for you. And that’s no fun. We want you to buy plastic you will throw and love. For that reason, we have help for you in the form of our “Is this disc right for you” videos.

In that series of videos, we have top pros throw discs right along side amateurs. What you’ll notice is that each disc flies differently when thrown by different skill level players. This allows you to ask yourself who you realistically throw more closely to. The pro or the am? Or are you somewhere in between? If you know how you throw compared to them, this may help. But even this isn’t the perfect solution.

In the end, it all comes down to how each disc flies when you actually throw it. Unfortunately, no video in the world is going to tell you that. Sure, they might give you an idea. But in the end you really have to try them out for yourself. So watch those in the bag videos. Get some ideas.

Check those ideas out on the “Is this disc right for you” segments. Then go do the fun part. Head out and try some new plastic!

We have a few things in place to help you do this. First, many of our discs come in base line plastics that cost less than their premium plastic counterparts. You can try out several new discs and it won’t break the bank. Second, we have lots of misprints listed on our site. This means you can pick up new molds in our best plastics and not pay full price for something you aren’t sure of! Dynamic Discs Buy BackThird, if you are local to one of our stores or participating dealers, we have our Buy Back program. If you are not completely satisfied with a disc from Dynamic Discs, Latitude 64, or Westside Discs, bring it back within 14 day and we will buy it back from you at full purchase price* (check with your local retailer to see if they participate in this program).

Some day, our bags may be identical to our favorite pro. With enough practice and hard work, we can get there. Until we are, we need to make sure we set ourselves up for success along the way. A big part of that is throwing the right discs. If you spend the time figuring out what is right for you instead of simply copying someone else, we promise you will be happy with the result. And we are here to help you every step of the way!
